This new asynchronous online course from the Foundation for Teaching Economics is based on the curriculum of FTE’s popular in-person program. This course applies the economic way of thinking to examine the realities of socialism—past and present—and explores the many definitions, misconceptions, and historical outcomes tied to socialist policies.
Teachers will explore how socialism is understood today, how it was defined historically, and what the data show about its real-world effects. Participants will receive ready-to-use classroom materials and strategies that align with best practices in economics instruction.
