How will Economics for Teachers (EFT) Virtual programs be delivered?

All 2023 EFT Virtual programs will be held online “live”, synchronously via Zoom. Teachers will be required to be online in a virtual classroom approximately five hours per day, Monday through Friday, and for a two-hour opening session on Sunday at the start of the program.

 

A program that I wish to attend is closed to further enrollment. Does FTE maintain a wait list for closed programs?

Wait lists are kept for some, but not all site locations. Please reach out to Haley Sisler at hsisler@fte.org to find out if your dates of interest is maintaining a wait list prior to submitting your registration.

 

What is the cost of the EFT Virtual program?

The EFT Virtual registration fee is $150. Teachers must also have a computer/laptop/tablet with internet capabilities and a web camera, additional mobile communication device such as a phone or tablet, and headphones with a microphone.

 

How do I pay my program fee?

Accepted applicants can pay online with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). Payment directions can be found by logging in to your Self Service Center account.

Please note that you must submit your registration payment before you are considered officially enrolled; if you submit the online registration form without payment, your spot in the program will not be held.

 

What is the program schedule for the week?

The EFT Virtual program runs Sunday-Friday of each week offered. Please see the sample schedule here. A detailed schedule will be provided in the orientation packet, given approximately four weeks prior to the start of the program.

 

I need to arrive a little late, leave early and/or miss a couple of sessions during the week. Is this OK, and can I still get the university credit?

No. Everyone who participates in FTE programs is expected to be present for the entire program. Participants must be in attendance at all sessions to be eligible for university credit. Plan on spending approximately 2 hours on Sunday, and 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

If you leave early or do not attend all scheduled sessions, you will be ineligible to receive the optional graduate credit and fail to receive your course completion certificate.

 

How do I register for graduate credit for my EFT Virtual program?

Information on graduate credits through the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs will be provided with orientation information approximately four weeks prior to each program. You can also click here to learn more about registering for credit.

 

Do EFT Virtual attendees qualify for a stipend?

Yes, teachers who attend EFT Virtual qualify for a $300 participation stipend. To earn a participation stipend, teachers must attend and actively participate in all sessions.  There is no need to apply for a participation stipend.

All stipends for the summer EFT Virtual programs will be processed at the end of the summer (after all programs are completed), and mailed by mid-September.

 

What is the cancellation policy?

The registration fee for EFT Virtual will be refunded 50% for cancellations made prior to May 19, 2023.  After May 19, no refunds will be issued.
