Laura Ahlstrom

Laura J. Ahlstrom is a researcher at the University of Delaware’s (UD) Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship. She earned her Ph.D. in Economic Education from UD and previously served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Oklahoma State University. She is also a former high school social studies teacher and taught AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics. 

Her research focuses on economic education, exploring instructors’ teaching methods and students’ choices to earn an economics degree. Her work has been published in journals such as AEA Papers and Proceedings, The Journal of Economic Education, and International Review of Economics Education. She also helps guide national conversations about economics teaching through her role on the American Economic Association’s Committee on Economic Education.
