Program Coordinators

The Foundation for Teaching Economics is looking for energetic FTE alumni to serve as Program Coordinators.
Apply Now

Program Coordinators (PCs) are an integral part of the FTE student program curriculum. PCs assist with the leadership instruction and oversee the daily life of the student participants. During an FTE student program, each PC serves as a “big sibling” to the student participants by motivating them, reinforcing the program’s lesson objectives, providing guidance and camaraderie, and helping enforce the program’s rules of student conduct.

Program Coordinators receive on the job training from more experienced PCs and senior leadership staff in addition to pre-program virtual training activities. PCs live in the dorms and are available to support students throughout the program. PCs are typically assigned to 2-4 programs.

FTE offers both in-person and virtual programs.  In-person program staff will arrive on campus Sunday afternoon and stay through the following Sunday at 11am for each program week. Virtual programs run Monday through Friday from 11:30am-4:30pm Eastern Time. Virtual PCs will be required to participate from 11:30am-12pm ET and approximately 3-4:30pm ET.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Complete the online application
  • Completed one year of college or the equivalent by the start of the summer
  • Be an FTE alum
  • Be committed to the mission of FTE

Selected candidates are required to participate in online pre-program training sessions, complete all necessary paperwork and training required by campus locations, and pass a national background check.

Benefits of being a PC include:

  • Round-trip travel to locations across the country
  • The opportunity to work with and learn from nationally recognized individuals in the fields of economics and leadership
  • FTE covers meals and accommodations at the worksite
  • A $75 meal stipend for in-person programs

    • 1st Year PC $900 per week
    • 2nd+ Year PC $1,000 per week
