Tomas Cvrcek

Tomas Cvrcek is a Lecturer in Economics at University College London’s School of Slavonic and East European Studies. He teaches Economic History, Economics of Family and Economics of Property Rights. His research focuses primarily on economic history, namely on the long-term trends and fluctuations in fertility, marriage, and marital disruption.

He is a native of the Czech Republic and came to America as a Fulbright Scholar in 1999 to complete a master’s degree at Yale University. He then stayed to pursue a Ph.D at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, which he completed in 2007. He has also taught at Clemson University, in South Carolina, and at University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic.
