Recent Alumni Profile – Anisha Guru

Anisha attended her first program with the Foundation for Teaching Economics in 2016 at Washington University in St. Louis. Since that time she has remained active with the organization, attending the alumni Leadership Academy in Washington DC the following year and now working with the foundation as an ambassador!

One of her favorite memories from attending the Economics for Leaders program in St. Louis was staying awake the last night of the program to watch the sunrise and sunset with her entire group. To this day, Anisha is still in touch with most of her classmates and feels she has made lifelong friends because of FTE.

About her experience she also says, “Attending EFL got me thinking about studying economics in college, and attending the Leadership Academy clinched that choice.” The Leadership Academy is a 4 day program in Washington DC where alumni have the opportunity to go further in depth with both the economic and leadership concepts taught in the EFL/EHFL programs.

Anisha is currently a senior in high school at Brookfield Academy in Wisconsin. She works as an ambassador for FTE helping to spread the word about our programs! As of this time she has both recommended outstanding classmates and hosted a presentation at her school.

If you are an alumni of the FTE programs, read more about how YOU can get involved by visiting our page Alumni Opportunities.
