Site Spotlight – Cornell University

We are almost ready to announce our new 2020 sites! One place we will be returning is beautiful Ithaca, NY at Cornell University.

Cornell is a private Ivy League university with a long tradition of building leaders and creating lasting impact on the state of New York and beyond.  Despite being the youngest of the Ivy Leagues, Cornell boasts access to immense resources that are put to use helping over 1.9 million New Yorkers every year by a community of 45,000 university volunteers.  Animal lovers will be pleased to learn that more than 6,000 animals have been helped by the university’s reinvigorated animal health center.

Participants stay on Cornell’s campus, nestled in New York State with a capturing view of Cayuga Lake, the longest of the Finger Lakes. The campus offers students a traditional college campus environment with a unique balance between a city-campus feel and expansive access to surrounding nature.

Ithaca, NY is the home to Cornell University.  For outdoor explorers, Cayuga Lake provides the perfect playground of water activates, hiking, gorge exploration, and waterfalls to see.  Since 1973 the farmers market has showcased the genius of local chefs, farmers, and artisans.  Ithaca Commons, Downtown, and College town houses eateries, entertainment, and shopping for people looking to spend their days in the city.
